About the job

Main Purpose of Position

  • The post holder will be responsible, within the sales team, for management of assigned accounts renewing service, growing revenue and margin. For discussing requirements with clients making recommendations, creating costing documents, producing quotations, receiving and sending orders for processing and following up with clients. To provide support and backup to account managers and business development consultants in providing small works quotes for clients. Provide general backup for account managers when required.

Management means:

  • Being the prime owner of our relationship with the client, liaising with other specialists working within the account, to maintain and retain our business both in volume and quality
  • Growing the account by achieving orders for system integration and services.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • For assigned clients be accountable for the level and quality of all sales and services delivered, maintain client relationship and satisfaction levels. Take opportunities to grow business with client
  • Ensure service renewals on assigned accounts
  • Prepare quotations and proposals using internal documents and tools whilst following defined policies, procedure and guidelines
  • Conduct product research whilst gaining input from manufacturers and internal engineering resources
  • Receive orders and pass to sales order processing
  • Produce monthly reports on sales and open opportunities
  • Assist Account Managers and Business Development Managers when required
  • Establish strong, long lasting relationships with clients and maintain existing relationships
  • Develop new opportunities for the sale of systems and products from designated existing and new clients with the aim of increasing turnover from those clients and improving margin
  • Develop strategies to develop the small works business
  • Help with all department sales support tasks designated by the Team Manager


  • Provide support for Account Managers when they are out of the office for extended periods, dealing with client requests, owning client issues or escalation to resolution, make changes to proposals and processing client orders through to the Sales order processing team

Client Management

  • Maintain client relationships to ensure renewed Service contracts and expand on Systems Integration business
  • Schedule and execute client meetings, Informal and formal dependent on client, and contractual requirements, in cooperation with the account teams
  • Advise and discuss process / service /delivery improvements with clients and account teams
  • Address any customer escalations
  • Ensure regular communications with the client to ensure all obligations
  • Advise the client of new technology to improve their services and real estate in conjunction with the account teams

 Commercial Management          

  • Manage changes to the services contract, through the term, in coordination with the account teams
  • Be responsible for accurate creation of proposals for all products and services
  • Ensure the desired, agreed and targeted margin is included within all proposals
